On our way through Chief Civil Engineer Schumacher's largest brick settlement of the 1920s, we are impressed by the variety of red brick facades. We pass Germany's oldest balcony access building and stop in front of a former dormitory for single women.
In the parks located between these buildings, we see where children rode brick horses and climbed on the iron Heinrich. We take a look at what life is like in former hospital pavilions and where people used to swim in the water tower, and we see a huge road bridge that was supposed to be part of a highway planned in the 1960s.
