For the 11th Hamburg Architecture Summer 2026, in collaboration with Architects 4 Future and the PIA – Women in Architecture e.V. network, we are bringing the exhibition "Nothing New – Building Better with Existing Structures" from the German Architecture Museum (DAM) to Hamburg. We are not just showing the exhibition – we are rethinking it.Because building with existing structures is not a niche topic for specialists, but a central question for the future of our city that affects everyone.Instead of high-gloss models behind glass, we will have models to build upon.Instead of distance: Participation.Instead of just looking: Trying out, rebuilding, rethinking. With projects such as the Gängeviertel, PARKS (Alster-Bille-Elbe PARKS), the renovation of Kampnagel, or the Grönninger Hof, Hamburg perspectives will be shown and discussed. The exhibition thus becomes a local stocktake.Accompanying this will be a diverse program of interactive workshops, tours, site visits, and lectures. Topics such as circular construction, craftsmanship, social issues in the construction industry, and sustainable urban development will not be considered in isolation, but interconnected. This way, the exhibition becomes a space where generations, professions, and perspectives come together and ask collectively:How do we want to continue building when we actually already have everything? The exhibition was curated by Katharina Böttger, Jonas Malzahn, and Mathias Schnell (studio central) and expanded for Urbaneo by Paulina Krebs, Maire Cordts, Ina Möller, Heidi Fletscher, Adrian Ebert, and Tanja Willhalm (Urbaneo, PIA - Women in Architecture e.V. and Architects 4 Future Hamburg). An event as part of the Hamburg Architecture Summer 2026.www.architektursommer.de
