A secret chain of bunkers was built within the Masurian Lake District. Adolf Hitler established his headquarters here for the entire Eastern Campaign under the name “Barbarossa Plan.” This place is a must-see for all World War II enthusiasts.

Every history enthusiast should visit this place, as the Wolf’s Lair is a complex of huge, imposing bunkers located in a picturesque land of forests and lakes called Masuria. A secret complex of multi-story bunkers, completely hidden from the world, witnessed the most important moments of World War II. Although the Wolf’s Lair was blown up during the Germans’ retreat in January 1945, it is still very impressive. The colossal concrete bunkers spread across the vast site demonstrate the military ambitions and power of Nazi Germany. Hitler was not the only one with a headquarters here—many of the most important figures of the Third Reich, such as Göring, Bormann, Keitel, and Jodl, had their bunkers at the Wolf’s Lair. On the way back, we will visit one of three places: Mamerki, where you can see more bunkers; a medieval castle; or a beautiful Baroque church with a spectacular interior. The choice is yours!
