Book presentation with illustrated lecture by the author Herbert DiercksThe former Hut Prison, built as a police station in 1858, served as a police prison, homeless shelter, youth home, and refugee accommodation, and has been used as a men’s residence since 1991. From 1933 to 1945, it was a site of fascist persecution. This period will be explored through the biographies of several victims and perpetrators; the situation and protests against conditions in the postwar period, as well as the building’s history, will also be presented with an illustrated lecture.
