An inclusive dance and musical eveningOn August 29, 2026, the Minotauros Company invites you to a dance workshop starting at 5 p.m. Together with the ensemble, Clari Muesing (FSJ-Kultur) will teach various partner dances – including Discofox.Following this, the Minotauros Company will present its new musical performance "Minotauros goes Musical".For the very first time in the 27-year history of the Minotauros Company, a stage production has been developed that combines singing, dancing, and acting. An excerpt from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats will be shown. The Minotauros Company does not attempt to copy the original, but rather to interpret the source material in a very personal way – in the typically quirky Minotauros style.A particular challenge lies in portraying characters that are not human, but animals with human characteristics and behaviors.The central question is: What is human – and what is non-human? The theater ensemble of Elbe-Werkstätten GmbH from Hamburg was founded in 1999 by Olga Brandin. At the latest since Moritz Schilk took over the direction (2022), the company has positioned itself in the tradition of Hamburg's spoken theater, thus occupying a unique role in the German-speaking theater landscape. With its professional work, it sees itself as an ambassador for a more inclusive society – art for art's sake! In addition to current productions such as Pilks Irrenhaus after Ken Campbell and their ever-popular Revue à la carte program, the company is facing a special challenge this year: a musical performance. For the very first time in its 27-year history, the company's actors are developing a stage play that equally comprises elements of singing, dancing, and acting. An excerpt from Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber will be shown. They are not trying to copy the original, but are staging the number in their very own personal way – in the typically quirky Minotauros style. What particularly challenges them is the fact that the characters are not humans, but animals embodying human traits and characteristics.
