Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum takes us back to the time of World War II and shows us what life was like in the Nazis’ concentration camps. This visit is a history lesson that offers you the unique opportunity to learn about the darkest aspects of human nature. More than 1 million people were murdered there, mainly Jews brought from all occupied countries or from territories under the political influence of the German Nazis. People died in gas chambers, were tortured, and subjected to inhumane medical experiments. It is a horrific lesson in what the Holocaust was and how it operated. It is a full-day trip (12–13 hours): 4h – travel from Warsaw to Auschwitz, 2h – guided tour in Auschwitz, 1h – guided tour in Birkenau, 4h – travel from Birkenau to Warszawa. Private transportation. We will spend the first part of the day in Auschwitz-Birkenau, the infamous symbol of Nazi rule in Europe. It was the largest extermination and concentration camp ever established on the old continent. From 1940 to 1945, the Germans imprisoned nearly 1.5 million people there, most of them Jews. It is estimated that approximately 1.1 million people were murdered there. After visiting Auschwitz, we will have lunch in a nearby town, and after a short drive we will reach Krakow. Poland's former capital has a unique atmosphere. There are no skyscrapers, but in Krakow you can literally breathe history. It was the seat of the Polish kings until the 17th century, but the city's origins date back to the end of the 9th century. Krakow is now Poland's second-largest city and one of the country's most important cultural centers.
