Treblinka Memorial

It is quite difficult to find a similar history anywhere in the world. It is not an easy subject, but its gravity does not make it any less interesting or fascinating. The Treblinka extermination camp was built in 1942 on the orders of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler. However, from 1940 there had been a penal camp for the Polish population in the northern part of the Warsaw District (Treblinka I), which was converted into a forced-labor camp in 1941. The death camp "Treblinka II" was established near "Treblinka I" to carry out the mass extermination of Jewish men, women, and children.
